Grinnell College’s Video Production Studio is a resource for faculty creating instructional content, students completing media-related assignments, and other projects related to the digital liberal arts. The goal of the production studio is to provide the equipment, software, and expertise to enable the Grinnell community to create compelling video and audio media.
The studio is housed in the lower level of Burling Library, as part of the Digital Studio. This location is spacious and quiet and is accessible to students, faculty, and staff. The studio is equipped with professional quality video and audio production gear. The space can be used to record and edit high-quality video, screencasts, and audio.
If you are interested in using the Video Production Studio for a single project, please email burlingdigitalstudio@grinnell.edu to reserve the space for up to 4 hours at a time. For integrating video production into a course, please reach out to Mo Pelzel, Director of Academic Technology to discuss your ideas.
As of Summer 2026, the Video Production Studio is hosting two of the Film & Media Studies stop motion animation stations! Industry-standard software Dragonframe is available on a nearby machine for use. Reach out to Max Schafer or Ethan Nelson to learn more!
